(no, not students but ... teachers), prepared by Irina Bogaievska, OUP consultant, and a teacher of English Zhanna Sevastianova.
What motivates teachers when they motivate students?
There are various theories about motivation.
Here is Maslow's needs theory, which can be tried on by everybody, not only by teachers:

Ty the following task and get to know:
Visualize a young woman carrying an attache case and entering a large office building.
She is standing outside the elevator. Choose one variant in the following task:
1). "The woman is hoping to become an executive some day. How longingly she is looking at the offices above!"
2). "The woman is on her way to making a big sale. She is determined to do what it takes to close the sale today.
3). "It's lunch time. The woman is on her way to meet her friends and have a great time socializing."

We also talked about Motivators (satisfiers), which make the job rewarding; and
about Hygiene factors (dissatisfiers), which can prevent dissatisfaction:
But all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
So, the second part of the English club meeting was about a perfect teacher, but in a funny way.)))
1)Making cocktail from such ingredients as creativity, artistic skills, personal skills, handmade resources and just invented ingredients.
2)Demonstrating artistic skills

4. Having photo sessions with just decorated Christmass trees)))
5. Enjoying themselves
