We are looking forward to New Year! But do you know about the next holiday which is celebrated on the 1 January? It's the First Foot. The First Foot is the first visitor to enter the house on New Year's morning. He comes as early as possible. He usually brings presents, such as a bunch of  evergreens, a bottle of vine or a piece of coal. Teenage boys are the most popular first visitors. They usually come into a house with a branch of mistletoe. The First Foot is said to bring luck to the house, so he should be strong, healthy and fair.

May the First Foot bring you good luck, health & wealth in the New Year.

Your answer is warm, but not hot. It's not England. So, what country is it?

Tradition holds that the "first foot" should belong to a tall, healthy, strapping dark-haired man, carrying symbols of abundance for the home: coal for the fire, bread for the table and whiskey for the head of the household."
