When was the last time you went to the cinema? A week ago? a month ago? Then it's time to watch something interesting.
Why not see the new Ukrainian film "Fire Crosser"
It’s an unreal story about a real person. Ivan Dazenko was born in Chernechyj Yar village, Poltava region.
A bomber pilot and hero of the Soviet Union, he made it through the whole war. His plane was shot down, after which he managed to avoid both the fascists and Stalin’s camps. Eventually he got classified as a missing person.
Then, 20 years later, a Soviet delegation that was visiting an Indian settlement in Canada met a tribal chief named Ivan. The film about this Ukrainian and his unbelievable fortune was in the making for five years.
Most of it was shot in Kyiv, while some was shot in the south Andes. Mykhaylo Illenko, the film’s director, believes that it’s high time to show the world Ukrainian films of high quality. All the roles in the movie are played by Ukrainian actors.
The creators behind the project believe that the film is worthy to compete with Hollywood blockbusters, since everything is there: adventure, love, and a hero who’s a real person, one who managed to overcome huge challenges and come out a winner.
The story of this Ukrainian who passed through fire started playing in theaters on January 19th.
Now the filmmakers are working on foreign orders for the film. Proposals have been received from the USA, Canada, Argentina, Poland, Russia, and Mozambique.
