School year is coming to its end & everybody is busy doing his/her best to get better marks.
But today we have had an unusual lesson on home reading. With the pupils of the 8 B Form we read the story "Netty Sargent & the House."
Everybody was impressed with it & today a special guest from the library of Oxford University Press Irene Bogayevska has come to our lesson . She's brought us different tasks to organize a discussion. The class was devided into six groups: summerizers, connectors, word masters, passage people' culture collectors &discussion leaders. Each group was given different tasks for discussion. Pupils worked with the text , gave their points of view & discussed the main problems in the story.Everybody had a chance to show his/her ideas. Ms Bogayevska, Ms Byzova and Ms Savchenko were the consultants.
At the end of the lesson Mrs. Bogayevska thanked everybody & presented our pupils and teachers with books, posters & pocket dictionaries of the English language.
Everybody enjoyed the lesson. We saw we coud not only read the story, answer the questions & retell it but we can discuss it, so it's a much better way to communicate with each other. I hope we'll continue this kind of work at our lessons. More over there are a lot of interesting stories in the books suggested by Mrs. Bogayevska.
So, our dear pupils enjoy your summer holidays & don't forget about your best friends-books. They will always help you not to be bored.
