I think that being on duty is interesting, because pupils help to collect all the registers at the end of the day and to do other useful things.
Also, you don't have to wear a school uniform. And you can miss boring lessons.
But, there are some disadvantages. You have to miss interesting and important lessons. You should stay with grumbling women in the canteen.
As for me, I agree with Dzvinka. You feel yourself as a part of gymnasium's life!
