which Bulgakov began writing in 1928 and which was finally published by his widow in 1966,
twenty-six years after his death, led to an international appreciation of his work.
The book contributed a number of sayings to the Russian language, for example,
"Manuscripts don't burn" and "second-grade freshness".
A destroyed manuscript of the Master is an important element of the plot.
Bulgakov had to rewrite the novel from memory after he burned the draft manuscript.

Also I really love The Hunger Games trilogy, these are my favourite books as well. Speaking about poetry I personally don't enjoy it as much as books, but this is one of my favourite poems by M. Tsvetaeva
I love our English club meetings for the peaceful atmosphere and opportunity to show your creativity. So I hope we will continue these meetings and maybe other groups will also like them ^_^
On Thursday we had a nice time together talking about our favourite books and poetry. The atmosphere was special, because everyone told us about literature, that means something for him or her. I discovered some really talanted poets, as well as my classmates did. I think, it's a great idea to have such meetings at the end of each term. They help us to widen our horizons in themes we're really interested in. And of course they are a good ability to relax.
On Thursday we had a nice time, we were talking about our favourite books and authors. Everyone had an oportunity to retell about his favourite book and poem. I discovered many books, and I think, I will read them in the future. I was very glad to have this meeting because children could find out about interesting books, where they could find something they wanted. I think, it will be perfect, if sometimes we have some meetings like it.
This English club was great. We had a really good time talking about our favourite writers, books, poetry. As for me I discovered a lot of new books that I want to read. I think everyone learns something interesting. I hope we will have more meetings like that. By the way I want to tell you about my favourite book: "Metro 2033" by Dmitry Glukhovsky.
The book tells us that In 2013, a nuclear war occurred, forcing a large amount of Moscow's surviving population to relocate to underground metro stations in search of refuge from the outside world. Eventually, those who settled in the underground train stations evolved their homes into independent station-countries. Soon, new factions grew, ranging from the independent "Rangers" to the communist "Red Line" faction to the "Fourth Reich" which constantly engages in skirmishes with the former group. As these small states began to evolve, the Red Line and the Fourth Reich entered a permanent state of war, as both sought to control the metro and its resources. As the war raged, those stations who refused to join either side were massacred by the militants, raided by bandits, or outright destroyed by the Dark Ones - paranormal, otherworldly, mutated humans who live on the ravaged surface.
That theme really interested many people all over the world and a lot of writers started writing on this theme. Today there are nearly 47 books and two computer games on this theme and they are not only about Moscow but also about Kyiv, Crimea, Finland And a lot of other places. I advise you to read at least one of these books. I bet that you will enjoy it
Vadim, your message really interested me. I enjoy books written in this genre, especially if the action happens in some place familiar to me. And I like reading book about surviving. So, I think, I’m going to read some of these books.
Vadim, your book really interested me. I think the plot is really exciting, I like such kinds of books and it's always interesting to read what people think will happen in the future, but these are just author's thoughts and fantasy. Recently I enjoy surviving ideas in books or films a lot. So I think I'll read this book next.
Vadim, that's a really good book, I think, but I haven't read it yet I haven't finished reading one book. This history will be next ^^ One of my friends was project manager of the game 'Metro 2033'.
Vadim, I like your message so much! Because I like these books and I've read it. I am really interested in the future and I hope that we won't have as future as in these books. But there are really very interesting!)
Hi everyone!) I think, that on Thursday we had a really good day!) I like books and poems so much and as for me it's very necessary to read and be interested in this. Everyone had told about his favourite book and me too. I want to say that I really like a book "The hungry games" which was presented by Stacy because it's very interesting and fantastic! And this film is magnifecent too!) I hope that we will have more and more books like this one. I like poems too and my favourite poet is Asadov. I posted some his poems a month ago and my friend Sonya posted some his poems too. I hope you will like our information and photos!) Good reading and luck, Masha^_^
Hello! Thursday was interesting day, because friends told about favorite books and the books are amazing! I like Vadim`s book but I hope it`s not about future. My favorite book is "Sensey" by Russian writer Anastasia Novyh. This book about a girl who is ill and she with friends and they find school of martial fight. And there is a man who tell them about sense of life, about meditations, soul, energy and what is a human. Later the girl is alive and healthy. The book is fantastik and instructive.
Hi! We had a nice time on Thursday, we talked about favourite books and poetry. My favourite book is "The Catcher in the Rye " written by J.D. Selinger. This book is about a boy (Holden), who describes his life.
Holden's story begins at Pencey Prep on the day of the big football game. Instead of going to the game, Holden, who has just been expelled for failing four of his five classes, visits Mr. Spencer, his history teacher. Mr. Spencer lectures Holden about playing by the rules and thinking about his future. Holden pretends to agree with what he hears, but actually thinks Mr. Spencer is a "phony." Back in his dorm room, Robert Ackley, Holden's irritating neighbor, interrupts Holden as he tries to read, and Ward Stradlater, Holden's conceited and good-looking roommate heads out for a date with Jane Gallagher, a girl Holden knows and likes. Before he leaves, Stradlater asks Holden to write an English composition for him while he's away. Holden writes about his dead brother Allie's baseball mitt....
If you are interested in this short beginning you should read it!
Also, I like Masha's favourite book "The Master and Margarita". It's an incredibly and very exciting story!
'Sergey Esenin's flamboyant personality, peasant origins, and craving for self-destruction have forever canonized him as Russia's favorite "hooligan poet." Esenin died at the age of 30, tired of life and poetry. His suicide, still a mystery, triggered a wave of suicides among his fervent adepts. The novelty and magnitude of his continues to astonish his readers.' Here you can read more: http://russiapedia.rt.com/prominent-russians/literature/sergey-esenin/ I totally agree with written words. He's an extraordinary person who does not fit into the framework of concepts. Here's one of my favourite poems:
I also found a tranlation of this poem into English. You can read it, is you're interested:
I will not deceive myself
I will not deceive myself, admittingI have worries in my heart, so dreary. Why am I reputed as a cheating Crook and trouble-maker, really?
I am not a villain nor a thief in hiding, And I never shot imprisoned convicts. I am just a thoughtless idler, smiling Friendly and avoiding conflicts.
I am a naughty reckless Moscow loner. All along the main street, and around, Every little dog in every corner Knows me by the way I tread the ground.
Every jade I meet, rundown and hopeless, Gives me nods of hail and salutation. I am a friend of animals, my verses Are as good for them as medication.
I don"t wear my hat to charm the ladies For I can"t stand featherbrained emotions. It"s convenient to use my hats as ladles Filling them with oats to feed the horses.
I do not have friends among the people, It"s a different kingdom I am bound to. I will gladly give my tie to simple Shaggy dog I happen to encounter.
From now on I will be safe and sound. In my heart a sunny day is breaking. That"s the reason why they tend to count Me to be a crook and trouble-maker.
I haven't got any books, which I love, unfortunately. But there's one trilogy that I like. Of course you know it well :))
Hello=) Vadym, i also play game Metro 2033 and i would like to read this book. Inna, your poem which you like is very cool, but it is sad. I like happy poems with good end=)) Also, i like humoresques. Because I think we must live in fun every day. My favourite writter is Pavlo Glasoviy. Here on one of the humoresques: — Дві години стежу я за тобою, друже.
Hey guys! I really like our Club meeting. It was a great idea to discover someone's personality by reading his or her favorite books or poetry. And now I wanna present my fav book. It's 'Quo Vadis' by Henryk Sienkiewicz. This is a historican novel. It takes place in the city of Rome under the rule of emperor Nero. The novel tells of a love that develops between a young Christian woman, Ligia and Marcus Vinicius, a Roman patrician. As a whole, Quo Vidis carries an outspoken pro-Christian message. It came out in book form in 1896 and has since been translated into more than 50 languages. This novel contributed to Sienkiewicz's Nobel Prize for literature in 1905.
Hi everybody That was really interesting club meeting I like Katya's book I am going to read it soon. I think we should have more such meetings. And we can talk about lot of interesting things.
